Bridge Inspection Manual Development and Training

Collins has provided bridge inspection training courses to various clients both in Ireland and the United States. Such clients include Waterways Ireland and multiple states' departments of transportation. The training includes details of levels of inspection, inspection techniques, details of typical defects, and condition rating of elements.

Collins also teaches a Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) approved underwater bridge inspection course in the United States. Course topics include methods of underwater inspection, underwater material deterioration mechanisms and inspection techniques, underwater element-level rating, and underwater bridge inspection training. Collins’ training also covers the inspection and maintenance of ancillary structures such as structural supports for highway signs, luminaires and traffic signals.
